I got this blog running! I’m using emacs org-mode, ox-hugo, hugo, and codeberg pages to host the static site. I’m hoping to also have this site setup as a gemini capsule or maybe even a gopher phlog! Might have to rethink how I link to things if I get this working for gemini/gopher. That’ll be another step. Just getting this working felt like an accomplishment!

While it definitely would’ve been easier to set this up as a wordpress, it’s been helpful learning how to set this all up together. A different static site generator than hugo may have been simpler, but likely wouldn’t have had as many blog posts to learn from.

Part of setting up this blog feels like an excuse to use and learn org-mode even more. It does make me much more motivated to write. I hope I stick to it!
